Clayton “Todd” Thompson, 51, of Kellysville died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. Born December 11, 1965 in Princeton he was the son of Lois Buckland Thompson of Kellysville and the late Arvel C. Thompson. Todd was a graduate of Oakvale High School and was employed at Grant’s Supermarket as a butcher. He was a member of the New Zion Regular Baptist Church in Oakvale.  Todd was a lifelong resident of the Kellysville area and was an outdoor person who loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Arvel “Hampton” Thompson; and one nephew, Joey Eades. Additional survivors include two sisters, Carol McKenzie and husband James of Princeton and Drema Janney and husband Jerry of Narrows, VA; one sister-in-law, Judy Thompson of Kellysville; special aunt, Clara Ruth Miller of Peterstown, WV; special neighbor, Eula Thompson of Kellysville and her late husband Ray Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. Todd was loved not only by his family and friends but his co-workers at Grant’s as well. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the New Zion Regular Baptist Church in Oakvale with Pastor Roger Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Friends may call at Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2017 and at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
