John Robert Barton 81 of Wickham Avenue, Princeton went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his residence. Born in Warford on November 10, 1935 he was the son of the late James Carl Bratton, Sr. and Reba Young Barton. He was a retired Engineer with WVVA Television after 43 years of dedicated service. John was a Deacon and active member of the Calvary Messenger Ministries in Bluefield and in his spare time was a television repairman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Barton and one brother James Carl Barton, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Linda Lou Goodman Barton. One son, Gary Barton and wife Tayna of Princeton; Three Grandchildren, Santana and boyfriend Matt, Skylar and husband Lucas and Jacob and girlfriend Casey. One Great Grandchild, Elijah. Services to celebrate the life of John Robert Barton will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of the Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with his son, Pastor Gary Barton and Pastor Mark Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Cemetery, Pipestem. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
