Mary Margaret Thornton, 79, of Kellysville died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at her residence. Born March 28, 1938 in Elgood she was the daughter of the late Charles R. Thompson and Lora Edna Comer Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kellysville Church of God. Mary enjoyed her flowers and especially loved gardening. While her health permitted, she was very active at her church including making apple butter and Easter eggs. She had been a lifelong resident of this area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years, Charles Edward Thornton; and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Hill and husband Roger “Glenn” of Christian’s Ridge; two sons, Charles R. Thornton and James A. Thornton both of Kellysville; one granddaughter, Stephane Hill; one sister, Dana Hubbard of Princeton; and Mary’s two loving companions, her cat “Tom” and Stephane’s service dog “Jaxon” who was Mary’s grandpuppy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 10, 2017 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Franklin Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery, Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM November 9, 2017
