Redas A. Brown

Redas A. Brown, 96, of Cheesy Creek Rd., Princeton died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at her residence. Born April 6, 1921 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Everett Edward White and Sallie Vest White. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area. Redas was a member of the New Zion Regular Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Circle where she was very active while her health permitted.  Redas was a very caring person who loved her family first, her church family, and was always concerned for everyone’s well being. She loved to quilt and garden and took pride in her flower gardens especially her roses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bennett M. Brown; one daughter, Brenda Brown Ayers; one great grandson, Brett Allen Golden; three brothers, Cecil  White, Dale White, and Randolph White; and three sisters, Mildred Comer, Ennis Broyles, and Geneva Bell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Freeman Brown and wife Bonnie of Cheesy Creek  and Milton Leon Brown and wife Sharon of Covington, VA;  nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; four nephews; and one niece. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the New Zion Regular Baptist Church, Cheesy Creek Road, with Pastor Roger Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery, New Zion Rd., Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Monday. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their loving care.
