George “Frank” Alley, 69, of Princeton, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. Born August 1, 1948 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Harrison Junior Alley and Edna Irene Brewster Alley. Frank was a retired custodian with the Mercer County Board of Education and had been a lifelong resident of Princeton. He loved to hunt, fish, and the outdoors when his health permitted. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step daughter, Kathleen Comer Peak. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his wife of forty five years, Helen Frances Comer Alley of Princeton; two sons, Kenneth Alley and wife Michele and Thomas Alley and companion Tina Hale all of Princeton; grandchildren, Kelly and Paul Pilkins, Brittany Peak, Brianna and Brooklyn Alley, Sarah, Matthew, and Andrew Thomas all of Princeton; Katie Alley of North Carolina; and great grandchildren, Bentley, Kaleb, Payslei, and Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Steve Pendleton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour on Tuesday. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers is Joseph Soucy, Kevin Murphy, Dean Bragg, Scott Moulder, Paul Pilkins, Eddie Comer, Joseph Keatley and Mike Soucy. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM.
