JoAnne Meadows

JoAnne Meadows, 85, of Princeton, formerly of Willowton, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born November 5, 1932 in Willowton she was the daughter of the late James E. Meadows and Myrtle Thomas Meadows. She was a 1951 graduate of Oakvale High School and a retired sales clerk for various stores. JoAnne was a member of the Willowton Christian Church and had been a resident of the Willowton area since 2011 moving here from Appomattox, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Meadows;  two sons, Peter Alan Meadows and Roger Charles Meadows; four sisters, Opal Scherer, Nita Meadows, Nancy Meadows, and Jerilee Meadows; and nine brothers, Merlin, James, Ralph, J.E. Jr., Marvin, Newton, Earnest, Billy, and Harold “Toby” Meadows. Survivors include one sister, Mary Billos and husband Leon of Narrows, VA; one brother, Tommy Meadows and wife Shirley of Princeton (with whom she had made her home); five grandchildren, Angie, Delbert, Samantha, Megan, and Chris; five great grandchildren, Charles, Duncan, Kaylee, Rylee, and Bella; special nephew, Tucker Meadows (who was always there for JoAnne); special family members and caregivers, Leona Meadows and Rita McCoy; and the canine love of her life “Rufus”. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Willowton Christian Church with Mike Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the Willowton Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Thursday.
