William "Bob" Robert Gray

William Robert “Bob” Gray age 91 of Elgood, WV passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Princeton Health Care Center, Princeton, WV. Born October 22, 1927 at Elgood, WV he was the son of the late Lutcher Thurman and Thelma Dickason Gray.  Bob was a Veteran of The Korean War, he worked at the Radford Arsenal until he became a Coal Miner at the Itmann Mines were he Retired.  He was a member of the Thompson Memorial Baptist Church in Elgood, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Patricia Hayes Gray, Brother James Edward “Eddie” Gray and wife Elva Gray; Grandson Shakim Aaron Saunders.  Survivors include: one daughter, Leota Hayes of Bluefield, WV; step-daughter, Yvonne Hayes-Hoston and husband Eugene of Princeton, WV, a very special cousin, Richard “Rick” Gray, of Elgood, WV and wife Betty, who was his caregivers until God called him home; special nieces and nephews;  Franklin Gray of Elgood, WV;  Randolph Gray and wife Gale of Charlotte, NC; Teresa Gray-Saunders and husband Tony of Roanoke, VA; four  grandchildren, Treasure Saunders, Jessica Hayes, Anthony Hayes (wife Heather), Marcus Hayes; six great-grand children and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Thompson Memorial Baptist Church of Elgood, WV with Rev. John Burnett, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from noon until the service hour at the church. Burial will follow in Thompson Memorial Cemetery, Elgood, WV with military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
