Allene Blankenship, 90, of Rich Creek formerly of Oakvale died peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek. She was born January 12, 1930 in Mercer County to the late William Hall and Lockie Southern Hall. Allene was incredibly talented with her crafts and loved to make gifts for everyone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Blankenship. Her longtime friend and companion John Shuck. Grandson Eric Lawrence, Siblings Virginia Davis, Robert, Earl, Buddy, and Otis Hall. She is survived by her children Pat Shorter, Kathy Perdue and husband Tom, Nancy Lawrence, John Blankenship and wife Connie, Sandra Ruble and husband James Robert Allen Blankenship and wife Selena. Stepdaughter Shelia Swager and husband Chuck. 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way. One sister Mary Jane Nelson. Her dogs she called her little girls Rosie and Maggie. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Allene Blankenship will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 1 PM from the chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service, with Pastor Joe Swiney officiating. Burial will follow in Elgood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
