Bernice Meadows Obituary

Bernice Smith Meadows, age 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born on July 5th, 1921 to Leonidas G. & Mary S. Smith. She married her longtime friend and love, Truman P. Meadows, on March 8, 1940 in Pearisburg, VA who preceded her in death in 1986. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Kenneth A. Smith, Loretta D. Pendleton, Paul R. Smith, Calvin G. Smith, Doris R. Thomas, and Jeanette L. Arnold. Bernice is survived by three sons. Jerry Meadows & Bethel of Lindside, WV, Eddie “Dickie” Meadows & Janet of Peterstown, WV, Jeff Meadows and fiancé Sherry Craig of Princeton, WV. Grandchildren: Shannon, Scott, Jason, Jeremy, Jessica & Cody. Eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Willowton Christian Church, Willowton, WV, with Jeremiah Murphy and Mike Robertson, Pastor of Willowton Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Willowton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 till the time of the service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Country View Assisted Living, Carilion Giles Community Hospital and Hospice for their love and care during this tough time. The Meadows family is being served by Fredeking Funeral Service of Oakvale, WV.
