Clara Hicks Obituary

Clara Hicks, 85, of Heritage Hall and Rehabilitation Center, Rich Creek formerly of Pigeon Creek Road, Oakvale, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her residence. Born July 29, 1933 in Jolo, she was the daughter William and Mary Muncy Kennedy. Clara was a loving wife, daughter, grandmother, and sister who loved the Lord. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Hicks. Surviving are her three children, Robert J. Hicks and wife Jennifer of Oakvale William A. Hicks of Princeton; Margaret Fain and husband Danny of Kegley; One grandson, Robert E. Hicks of Oakvale; One brother, Weddle Kennedy of Jolo, WV; Four sisters, Dorothy Griffith of IN, Tamsey Riffe of SC, Nancy Owens of FL, Virginia Perkins of AL; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Clara Hicks will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from the Jesus Church in Bartley with Rev. Pete Woods officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family Cemetery, Scott Hollow Road in Jolo. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at the church. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.fredekingfs.com. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Hicks family is being served by Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale.
