Darrell Eugene Holdren, 57, of Cheesy Creek died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born December 29, 1961 in Princeton he was the son of the late Fred Eugene Holdren and Carol Sue Meadows Holdren. Darrel was a retired farmer working his own farm raising cattle and hay. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was of the Protestant faith. Darrell was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include cousins, Michael Meadows (also his caregiver) and Rick Meadows. In keeping with Darrell’s wishes his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2018 at Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Rick Pennington officiating. Inurnment will follow at New Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday.
