Obituary

Della Mae Thompson, 65 of  Elgood, WV passed away peacefully at Princeton Community Hospital on Saturday April 15, 2023. She was the daughter of the late George Monroe Edwards and Viney Edwards Brunk. She was a nurse for most of her life. She was a member of Gospel Light of Faith Church. She is proceeded in death by her father George Monroe Edwards and her mother Viney Edwards Brunk and stepfather Douglas Lee Brunk, and brother Morris Edwards. She is survived by her husband Gary Dale Thompson Sr of 47 years. 3 children Jennifer Thompson of Elgood, Beverly Hunter of Princeton and Gary Thompson Jr (Lexi) of Elgood. 6 grandkids, 2 great grandsons. She was survived by her sisters Connie Reese of Princeton, Jewell Lester of Elgood, Wanda Conn of Elgood, and brothers John and Donna Edwards of Johnson City, Tennessee, Richard Edwards of Elgood, David Brunk of Elgood, Gloria Jones of Tennessee, Betty Massie of Wytheville, Michael and Mary Brunk of Camp Creek. Several nieces and nephews. Graveside services to celebrate the life of Della Mae Thompson will be held Friday April 21, 2023, Noon at Elgood Cemetery with Pastor Ginger Neely Officiating.  Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at the service hour.  Family will be serving as pallbearers.
