James Michael Whittaker

James Michael Whittaker, 49, of Princeton passed peacefully in his sleep Sunday September 29, 2024, at his residence. He was born June 13, 1975, in Princeton and was the son of Donna Whittaker (Hatcher) and the late James “Phil” Whittaker.

James was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. He was a man of faith and enjoyed helping the community with handyman work and was always happy on a mower. He was a welder and a 1993 Graduate of Oakvale High School. In addition to his father, he is preceded by his grandmothers Frankie Whittaker (Vaught) and Betty Davis, grandfathers Hoge Whittaker and Ligah Davis, stepfather Mike Hatcher and uncle Don Whittaker. He is survived by his children Autumn and Aiden, Mother Donna Whittaker (Hatcher), Fiancé Loretta Haywood and her sons Joseph and Jeremy, brother John and wife Laura and sister Niketa. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews Eliana, Jackson, Camden, Brianna, Mahayla, Zimaria and Devin; Aunts Dorothy “Dottie”, Connie, Teresa, Michelle, Angie, and Uncles Mike and Mont.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of James Michael Whittaker will be held Friday October 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service, Oakvale, WV with Pastor Morris Clyburn officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Giles County Virginia. Serving as pallbearers will be John Whittaker, Michael Holdren, Wes Paitsel, Jason Hill, Derek Weatherly and Joseph Haywood.
