James "Jimmy" H. Oxley Jr.

James “Jimmy” H. Oxley, Jr, son of the late James Oxley, Sr and Mona Meadows Oxley was born August 16, 1944 in Princeton, WV.  He was a graduate of Oakvale High School with the class of 1962, a former member of the Mercer County Board of Education and a lifelong follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Early on the morning of July 4, 2021, he left this earth for his new life in Heaven after a long battle with Inclusion Body Myositis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Weatherly Oxley and their three children: Rodney and Michelle Oxley of Princeton, WV, Randy Oxley of Nashville, TN and Sheraine and Keith Gunnoe of Princeton, WV.  Grandchildren:  Aaron and Amy Oxley, Ashleigh Oxley, Kelsey Masters, Casey Gunnoe, Lindsey Masters, Alec Gunnoe, Tyler Masters and Madison Gunnoe; Great-Grandchildren:  Gavin Oxley, Logan Oxley, Canaan Stables, Asher Williams, and Journee Masters; Siblings Dickie Oxley and Danny Oxley of Princeton, WV and Dana and Greg Matanoski of Richmond, VA. A special recognition from the family to Riley Kanode who was his caregiver and an honorary member of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lifeline Princeton Church of God on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Fred Farley and Dr. Reverend Ray Hurt officiating.   Friends may visit with the family from noon until the service hour at the church.
