Junior Franklin Billings

Junior Franklin Billings went home to be with the Lord Monday January 24,2022 at his home peacefully. Born October 25, 1936 in Dott, WV, he was the son ofthe Late Glemmie F. Billings and Alma Gilbert Billings Holland.  Junior served in the U.S Navy and was a retired master welder. Junior attended Tip Top Church of God. Junior had an immense love for bluegrass music and enjoyed his time with J and J Bluegrass Classics. In addition to his parents Junior was preceded in death by his first wife Shirly A. Billings of New Orleans, LA his second wife Joan F. Billings of Bluefield VA, one Son Keith D. Billings, one daughter Jodi L Harris both of Bluefield WV, one granddaughter Gracie L Smith of Rich Creek, VA, two sisters Bernice I Hazelwood of Chestnut Knob, Linda Yost of Speedway and two infant siblings.  Those left to cherish his memories are his two daughters Donna K Billings of Bluefield WV, Natasha Smith and husband Kenneth of Rich Creek, Va one Step son Mike French and wife Sally of Bluefield, Va. 8 grandchildren Jason Billings and wife Sarah of Charleston, WV, Jeremy Billings of Charleston, WV, Kayla Fletcher and husband Josh of Bluefiled, WV, Aaron Billings of Bluefield, WV, Derik Billings and wife Katrina of Bluewell, WW, Bryan Akers and wife Natasha of Washington State, Brandon Smith and Levi Smith both of Rich Creek, Va and Hunter French of Bluefield, Va. 12 great grandchildren Maverick, Alexis, Rylann, Aubree, Alivia, Layla, Zack, Joshua, Lilly, Jaxon, Madison and Laykin. One brother Bobby Billings of Oakvale, WV, one sister Charlotte Hazelwood and husband Dana of Chestnut Knob, two brother in laws Paul Hazelwood of Chestnut Knob and Mallory Yost of Speedway. Along with a host of nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Junior Billings will be held Sunday January 30, 2022, at 2 P.M.  from the Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service, with Pastor Dana Hazelwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Elgood Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as Pallbearers will be Mark Yost, John Yost, Chris Hazelwood, Kenneth Smith, Mike French, and Hunter French. Serving as Honorary pallbearer will be Donnie Asbury. In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations be made to the Rich Creek Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 311 Rich Creek, Virginia 24147.
