Lawrence "Larry McCauley Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” R. McCauley, 59, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant battle with cancer. His strength, humor, and kindness remained with him until the very end. Larry was born on January 5, 1966, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Deborah Jewell and James Sale. He was lovingly raised by the late Jack and Nancy McCauley, who instilled in him the values of family, loyalty, and hard work. Following high school and 2 years of college, Larry answered the call to serve his country, proudly joining the United States Army National Guard, where he served for three years. Larry never met a stranger, and strangers never stayed strangers for long around him. His big heart, quick wit, and generous spirit made him unforgettable to everyone he met. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen and cared for, always putting the needs of others above his own. Professionally, Larry was the very best at his craft in auto glass installation, trusted to work on expensive, rare, and unique cars. He took pride in his work and built a reputation for skill, precision, and dedication. Beyond his career, Larry found joy in the roar of NASCAR races, the satisfaction of working on cars of any kind, and the simple happiness of time spent with friends and family. Larry was also a man who loved to spread joy. Each Christmas, he played Santa for neighborhood children, bringing light and laughter to the season. He shared an especially deep bond with his beloved fur baby, Cooper, who was truly his loyal companion and best friend. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Elaine McCauley, but known to everyone as “Nagzilla” who was the love of his life and whom he treasured dearly. His warmth, kindness, and larger-than-life personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Larry will be laid to rest at Oakvale Cemetery on Friday September 26, 2025 at 11 AM. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at the service hour . Condolences may be left online at www.altmeyerfh.com or www.fredekingfs.com
