Marguerite D. Clemons, 80, of Oakvale, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA.  Born December 5, 1936 in Oakvale, she was the daughter of the late Claude D. and Eupha Harry Smith.  She was a homemaker and member of Oakvale United Methodist Church.  Marguerite had been a lifelong resident of Oakvale.  When her health permitted she enjoyed walking and dancing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Clemons.  She is survived by two sons, Robert Clemons, and Kenny Clemons and wife Pam, all of Princeton; two daughters, Leasa Whittaker of Oakvale, and Kathy Johnson and husband Tim of Stony Point, NC; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Junior Smith, and E.W. Smith and wife Drema, all of Oakvale, and Leon Smith and wife Wanda of Glen Lyn, VA; two sisters, Carolyn Clyburn and husband Morris, and Brenda Meadows, all of Oakvale.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Fredeking Funeral Service Chapel in Oakvale with Eulogist Morris Clyburn officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakvale Cemetery.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Oakvale United Methodist Church in Oakvale.
