Marion Edward Meadows

Marion Edward Meadows, 80, of Princeton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 14, 1941, in Camp Creek, he was the son of the late George Meadows and Ethel Davis Meadows. Marion was a 1959 graduate of Oakvale High School. He retired from Celanese Corporation with 40 years of service. Marion was an excellent cook and was known as the “Candy Man” and also for his homemade biscuits. He loved gardening and sharing his harvest with his family, friends and neighbors. Marion also, loved to pick his guitar, sing, and enjoyed meeting his buddies for breakfast and swapping their tales. Known as “Pops” by his son, he loved spending time with his son and grandchildren. Marion was one of a kind who was humble, helpful, kind, generous will be greatly missed. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Meadows and George Douglas Meadows. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Joyce Lee Meadows; Loving son, Timothy Meadows and wife Heather of Carolina Beach, NC; Two grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Amanda and T.J. Meadows of Simpsonville, SC; Loving sisters, Remonia Bailey and husband Frank, Delores Peyton and husband Reggy, Sharon Brown and wife Milton, Kaye Stanton and husband Jim and Reta Ray; Several loving nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021, from the Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Services with Tim Sanderson and Jimmy Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Brad Meadows, Freeman Brown, Hiram Weatherly, Morris Clyburn Dan Southern and Jim Stanton.
