Mary “Kathleen” Thomas was carried away on angel’s wings to her home with Jesus on Monday, May 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born January 26, 1937 in Princeton, the daughter of the late Alfred and Beatrice Hammonds. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Wallace “Bryan” Thomas; one grandson, Nicky Rachel; one brother, Franklin Hammonds; and one sister, Geneca “Irene” Thomas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and lifelong member of Kellysville Church of God. She always put the needs of her family and others, including her church before herself. She loved watching birds, growing flowers, going to church and especially enjoyed camping in the summer with all her family. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 60 years Wallace “Jack” Thomas; daughters, Carolyn Jones and husband Pat, Debbie Rachel, Kathy Spriggs, Jeannie O’Donnell and husband Kevin all of Oakvale, Vickie Lusk and husband Larry of Herndon; special friend and sister-in-law Marlene Pendleton of Princeton; brothers, James Hammonds, Jessie Hammonds, Bobby Hammonds, Roger Hammonds and wife Bernice; sisters, Lillie Seal, Barbara Chafin and husband Carl all of Princeton; grandchildren Roger Barie, Jr., Vicky Barie, Andria Coalson, Michelle Pettrey, Steven Rachel, Shenae Bailey and husband Jamie, Kristen Spriggs and husband Wade, David Rose, Bryan “BJ” Thomas, Alyssa O’Donnell; also 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a special dog, Bubbles. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Kellysville Church of God in Kellysville with Pastor Franklin Adkins and Pastor Ricky Shrewsberry officiating. Burial will follow at Oakvale Cemetery with Bryan “BJ” Thomas, Steven Rachel, Hunter Hill, Michael Hammonds, Jackie Ray Hammonds, Kameron Hall, Mark Rachel and Kenny Wooldridge acting as pallbearers.
