Mont Copenhaver, 77, of Oakvale died Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA

Born August 10, 1948 in Millpoint, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Margie and Heck Copenhaver.Mont loved hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of Gospel Light of Faith church where he loved to worship the lord. He worked in the coal mines, drove a truck for Coca-Cola. He worked for Tate Lohr Fish Hatchery until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Evalee Copenhaver of Millpoint, and Brother Ed Copenhaver of Fairmont, WV

Those left to honor his memory is his wife of 50 years Dorothy Copenhaver, Children Beth Combs and husband Kevin, Shawn Copenhaver and wife Jackie, Libby DeHann and husband Michael, Clint Copenhaver and wife Anita, Jimmy Copenhaver and wife Elizabeth, Brian Copenahver and wife Erin, and stepson Aubrey Stump. Grandchildren Andrew Copenhaver (Brooke), Cody Copenhaver (Marissa), Caleb Combs, Zach Copenhaver, Jacob Copenhaver, Katelyn Combs, Megan Cecil (Dakota), Olivia Ratcliff, Tristen Copenhaver. Great-grandchildren Bryce, Paxton, River, Oaklynd, Lennyn. Special Cousin Sandy Mcmillian and wife Carol

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mont Copenhaver will be held Friday June 5, 2026 at 7 PM from Gospel Light of Faith Church with Pastor Ginger Neely officiating.    Friends may visit with the family from 5 PM until 7 PM at the church on Friday.  Online Condolences may be shared with the family via www.fredekingfs.com.Arrangements by Fredeking Funeral Service, Oakvale.
