Perry Sumner Obituary

Perry David Sumner, 88, of Thaxton, VA, died Thursday, January 15, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. Born, January 11, 1938, in Ostego, WV, he was the son of the late Fountain Sumner and Lillie Meadows Sumner. Perry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Perry retired after several years as a truck driver. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 63 years, Arlene Sumner; Four children, David Arthur Sumner and Daniel Alan Sumner and wife Carrrie, Diana June Dick and husband David and Donna Jean Anderson and husband Tony; Eight grandchildren; Twenty-five great-grandchildren. The family has honored Perry’s request to be cremated with no services. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.fredekingfs.com.
