Rita Elizabeth McCoy, 71 of Princeton took her place in the Heavenly Choir October 31, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital, after a 21-day battle with Covid-19. She was born at Princeton Community Hospital on August 15, 1949. To the late Daril M. McCoy and her mother Leona E. Meadows now at 95 years of age. She was also preceded in death by a still born son James Henry Castillo in Mexico. She was a graduate of Oakvale High School and then continued her education to Kentucky Christian College. She met Benny Castillo. They were married in Willowton Christian Church on May 10, 1968. They moved to Mexico on mission work in 1972 until 1981. She returned to West Virginia to receive medical attention to regain her health. She continued her education at Bluefield State College where she received her degree for a registered nurse. Her career took her to many states until her stepfather James E. Meadows Jr. became ill and she cared for him until his death in 1995. She became the caretaker for her grandmother Amy Shrewsberry and her mother Leona for the last 20 years. In addition to her mother she is survived by her children Bernardo B. Castillo, and Elizabeth R. Lagos. Grandchildren Rebecca, Emily, Erica, Amy, and David. Brothers Edward & Nancy McCoy, Steve & Brenda McCoy, and Robert & Pearl McCoy, and Jay and Missy Meadows as well as many other family members, church family and her sweetheart Ronnie. Graveside services to celebrate the life of Rita will be held Sunday November 8, 2020 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jim Mullins Officiating at the Willowton Cemetery on Willowton Road.
