Willa Sue Moorefield, 84, of Walnut Street, Princeton, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. Born, August 21, 1938, in Corrine, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Wingo and Nellie Cook Wingo. Willa Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church and while living in Princeton, she attended the Princeton Salvation Army. Willa Sue was a homemaker and loved to attend the Mercer County Commission on Aging in Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Russell Wingo, Billy Wingo and Joan Carter. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Richard Moorefield; Two sons, Richard “Rick” Moorefield, Jr, and companion Jeane Meador, Jeffrey Moorefield (Jill). One sister, Carol Wilcox; Three grandchildren, Kristen Campbell (Steve), Greg Moorefield (Tera) and Gavin Ward; Four great-grandchildren, Kara Jennings (Ronnie), Matthew Campbell, Michaela Moorefield and Emilee Moorefield; Several nieces and nephews; Special friend, Charlie Hampton. Private graveside services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
